Our July update – July was a busy month once again amid heat waves, the end of term for students and Adelaide finishing for her very well-deserved maternity leave. Traditionally, Summer can be a quieter period for many businesses with annual leave and so on, but not so here at Mark 1!
We had a really busy month with 16 assessment days. Some assessments were still performed virtually but we’re seeing an increase in on site work, and Mark conducted his first trip out to Scotland for an assessment in two years; was a UKAS 17025 audit carried out over two days.
Our Titan system underwent some thorough testing as we made small amendments on user authorities and reports sections to make it even more powerful, and we’ve been in ongoing discussions with one of our clients over the expansion of business to their Italy branch. An exciting new opportunity and one we’re thrilled to be involved with.
But sadly, not all of July was a triumph! We’ll only mention it briefly with it being such a sore point, but England missed out on the trophy in the Euros with THAT penalty, but we can certainly be proud of the team for reaching their first final in 55 years.
The Olympic Games got underway in Tokyo and at the end of July, Great Britain had already achieved 11 medals (4 Gold, 5 Silver & 2 Bronze).
“Freedom Day” finally arrived on July 19th with almost all restrictions lifted, ably assisted by a heatwave – plenty of people took to their local watering holes to celebrate in style! It’s been great to see continued uptake in the vaccination to support the progress being made.
However, Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak found themselves in hot water, not because of the heatwave but for trialling a new self-isolation protocol. After staunch criticism, they were soon forced into a U-turn!
So all in all, another busy month! If anything in our July update has been of particular interest and you’d like some further information, please contact 0161 359 4329 or email info@mark1systems.com and we’ll be happy to help.
Thank you for reading our July update and we wish everyone all the best over the next month.
The Mark 1 team.
