We can’t believe we’re here, writing our August update, because it doesn’t feel like August ever really got going properly – it certainly hasn’t felt like high Summer!
Still, despite the inclement weather, Mark, Paul and Brandon had some rest and recuperation time in Wales, meaning that it has been a lot quieter at Mark 1 with only three assessment days this month, but many more booked in for September.
September promises to be a busy month, as we are looking forward to the release of the new Titan system – we are into the final stages of testing and bug fixing.
Sam has handed in his notice this month; we’ll be sad to see him go, but we’d like to thank him for his 4 ½ years’ service at the company and wish him best of luck with his new venture. We hope to keep in touch!
We signed on the dotted line, renewing the lease on our Manchester office, allowing us to continue using the great facilities there.
In the news this month, the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan forced 3.5million Afghans to leave their homes, with many attempting to flee the country as refugees. The UK committed to accepting 5,000 refugees and launched a rescue operation to evacuate more than 17,000 people, including over 5,000 UK nationals.
In the world of sport, the British and Irish Lions conceded their test series in their tour of South Africa, the UK secured a haul of 65 medals at the Olympic Games in Tokyo and at the end of the month, Team GB was in second place of the Paralympic Games with 80 medals won. A great month for live sport!
It’s been a fairly quiet month at Mark 1, but if there is anything in our August update that has been of particular interest and you’d like some further information, please contact 0161 359 4329 or email info@mark1systems.com and we’ll be happy to help.
Thank you for reading our August update and we wish everyone all the best over the next month.
The Mark 1 team.
